Specifically the talk will highlight how mobile poses a totally different set of problems that have very little similarities with desktops and why the security community at large has to make a mindset shift to handle them. Finally assisted by data collected in the past few years we will discuss future trends and threats.
Vincenzo Iozzo is a student at the Politecnico di Milano and an independent security researcher. In the past he has worked as a penetration tester and reverse engineer focusing on a variety of topics including vulnerability research, Mac OS X security and smartphones exploitation. He is a regular speaker at various information security conferences including Black Hat, CanSecWest and DeepSec. He is perhaps best known in the information security industry for co-writing the exploits for BlackBerryOS and iPhoneOS to win Pwn2own 2010 and Pwn2own 2011.
Vijay Dheap currently leads Mobile Security Solutions for IBM. As the resident strategist he led the formulation of IBM's mobile security strategy and is championing the technology solutions that make it actionable. Vijay brings significant international experience having engaged clients on five continents. He is well versed on mapping business priorities to technology l requirements given that he started off his career as a developer, then transitioned into a business analyst role prior to assuming his current position as the Global Product Manager for IBM Mobile Security Solutions. He holds an International MBA from Duke Fuqua School of Business and a Masters in Computer Engineering from University of Waterloo, Canada.
